Merry Christmas!
We spent the morning at home as a family of 5, opening gifts and having brunch together.
Last advent velcro piece - baby Jesus!
Traditional Christmas morning fare: egg casserole, monkey bread, fruit.
Angelic look: optional.
Ellie gets comfortable after breakfast.
Opening stocking stuffers and presents - Maddie loved her new blocks.
Robbie was over the moon to see his Christmas wish under the tree.
Ellie was very excited to get a 'puppy'. (Don't tell her it's not real.)
Later that afternoon we headed out to my parents' house for Christmas dinner. My Aunt, Uncle and cousins had traveled from Cincinnati and Collin had just gotten home as well, and we had a gift exchange with everyone before dinner.
Robbie showed us a new side of his personality as he entertained the group with perfectly timed humor.

Maddie spent most of the evening in Aunt Sherry's arms, laughing and smiling.

There were amazing appetizers to hold us over while the beef tenderloin took its sweet time in the oven; stuffed mushrooms, brie en croute, shrimp, pomegranate seeds, and we counted Christmas cookies as fair game too. Then my mom served us the most amazing dinner - a marinated beef tenderloin, twice baked potatoes, salad, green beans, and toasted sourdough garlic bread.
Ellie got hungry and seated herself well before the meal, entertaining herself with silverware and napkins.
Santa's helpers, decked out in plaid, wandered the house after dinner.
Saying goodbye to her Great Aunt Sherry at the end of the night. It was so special to have them here with us this year. What a Merry Christmas!
