Dragging the birthday out

2Toots, the diner with the toy train that delivers your food, sends birthday coupons out for the kids. So my mom met us there the week after Ellie's birthday, and we had a healthy lunch of hot dogs, grilled cheeses, fries, and of course cupcakes with frosting, sprinkles, a candle and a train whistle on top.

Ellie wanted to ride the horse on the way out. So we indulged her.

Once I'm out of the house with the kids, I can't go back home after just one event. So we walked the main street of downtown Glen Ellyn and settled on a hole-in-the-wall bookstore. The kids found an oversized stuffed teddy bear, which they took turns snuggling on, and we read books and played donut shop for a while before parting ways.

She is always in motion now!
